Sally moehringfounder and CEOEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
After many years in the horse business, Sally Moehring’s Cottage Farm Therapy and Wellness was born from the desire to help equine athletes prevent injuries and increase performance results. Sally holds certifications in several helpful therapy modalities.
Sally’s additional training in therapeutic ultrasound, laser and magnetic therapies were used with great results while working with top-class equine athletes competing in dressage, jumpers and polo. She served as the equine therapist to the Barbados 2018 CAC Games, Eventing and Dressage teams and for Barbados dressage rider, Roberta Foster, at the 2019 Pan American Games. She also served as part of the fitness crew for USA Endurance Team rider Holly Corcoran and her horse Poete. LIFELONG EQUESTRIAN WITH EXPERIENCE AND PASSION Sally has over 45 years’ experience in a range of English disciplines including riding hunter/jumpers, managing a racing barn, flat and steeplechasers, eventing through Intermediate level, show jumping to 1.30m, dressage through Advanced, and keeping her husband's polo string happy and healthy. She knows horses and understands the work they do. Each discipline comes with its own set of challenges and common injuries. Cottage Farm’s goal is to balance horse and rider health at optimum levels by keeping muscles supple and healthy. Healthy muscles do not hurt and are smooth and pliable to the touch. Many times, by being proactive with treatment and therapy, you can prevent or minimize injury caused by repetitive stress that often show up in some disciplines. Cottage Farm is constantly seeking out new products and services that can help you reach your rider and horse performance goals. Sally always recommends conferring with your veterinarian as a first step in your equine's well-being. These therapies do not take the place of regular veterinary check-ups. COMPREHENSIVE WELLNESS AND TRAINING FOR RIDERS AND HORSES Sally also provides training and assistance for riders too. Your health as a rider can directly affect your horse’s gait and movement because weight and its distribution impact how your horse literally carries you. Sally is certified as a personal trainer and in nutritional therapy for people. She is currently working towards her certification in Pain Management with Fitness Mentors. Your horse’s health–and yours–together can help you reach your performance goals. At Cottage Farm Therapy and Wellness, Sally can help riders and horses collectively with a plan to not only achieve goals, but feel your very best. |
