_Estefania: Edelweiss de Bonce X Rockette - SOLD
Esta was born in 2011 and she is everything we had hoped for from this cross.
She is a modern type, leggy filly who came into the world just a friendly as could be!
She was born "broke" and at just 2 weeks old I clipped her in the middle of the stall by myself without as much as a halter on her! She loves attention and I think she would live in the house if we let her :-)
At her Oldenburg NA inspection she proved her herself by scoring 8.2 across the board and was champion filly.
The summer of 2014 she left us on a breeding lease and was inspected by Rheinland Pfalz Saar and placed in Mare Book 1. July 2015 she produced a palomino colt, Gryfyndorr by the Cremello TB stallion Goldmaker : Goldmaker - 1999 Cremello Thoroughbred Stallion
Her pedigree can be seen here: http://www.sporthorse-data.com/db.php?i=10829321&time=1342388340
As with most of our other horses we like to use bloodlines that offer multi-discipline talent. Esta's pedigree is full high performance jumpers including her dam's dam, Lovely Girl who was a World Cup qualifier winner and also won the Tampa Invitational. Edelweiss de Bonce (deceased) her sire was a fantastic horse in many ways. Talented and bred for jumpers he sustained an injury as a 6 year old and was moved from France to Germany to pursue a career in dressage. He attained Grand Prix level under rider Catherine Haddad before being sold to the U.S in later years to be a schoolmaster. Also through Ed's pedigree we see his sire I Love You who was ridden by Norman Dello Joio to many GP wins. I recently found a great snippet on Phelps Media about the pair. "Norman Dello Joio achieved incredible success throughout his three-decade riding career. Winner of virtually every major grand prix in the U.S., he is best known for two major international titles--the 1983 FEI World Cup Final in Vienna, Austria, which he won aboard the French stallion I Love You, and the Individual Olympic Bronze Medal with Irish at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. I Love You was recently inducted into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame."
Esta's pedigree also offers plenty of blood through her sire and her ground covering canter should make her a good eventing candidate but I think she would make an equally fabulous jumper.
On returning to Cottage Farm she was sent to Exmoor Eventing to be started under saddle. In just 7 short weeks she was hacking out around the farm solo and with company and jumping small uprights and oxers, which she loves, she was also offering a clean change,
